ea2124-001What happened to my childhood? I lived it. It’s gone.

Ice lollies on the balcony. Swimming in a paddling pool. Finger painting. Making house with barbie dolls. Dressing up in costumes. Playing hide and seek. Playing crocodile/YangPoPo between beds. Making food with play dough. Skiing in the shower. Wishing for a roller bag. Cycling down a slope just to run up again. Feeding the swans and fish in the Botanic Gardens. Having super long bubble baths with rubber duckies.

So what now? Do I have to grow up?

We’re so arrogant, aren’t we? So afraid of age, we do everything we can to prevent it. We don’t realize what a privilege it is to grow old with someone. Someone who doesn’t drive you to commit murder or doesn’t humiliate you beyond repair.
